This recipe for Maple Granola needed a fresh revamp. You may recognize it from way back in the day when I first started this blog. In fact, this was my 11th recipe EVER on Olive and Artisan. I use it all the time. In fact, I’m using it on a recipe coming up this week so I thought, “Why not give this post a little revamp, a little make-over of sorts?”
Happy Saturday!!! I’ll be spending my weekend in the kitchen getting ready for a wedding that I’m catering. My LAST wedding of the season! You guys, I’m very excited about this. Not that I don’t enjoy/tolerate it. It’s just that it takes my focus away from other things I want to do that are more important. Such as:
- Developing recipes for the blog.
- Spending time with Daniel.
- Decorating for Fall. No, it’s not too soon.
- Self-care, i.e. painting my nails, watching a movie, and having total and complete quiet time!
Other than that, we had a garage sale yesterday in an attempt to remain minimalists. Not really, we are more of the quasi minimalist sect. Proud to be one. While I can keep a small wardrobe, minimal decor and such — you should see my prop room. I have an obsession, and it’s taking over our 3rd bedroom. Send help. No, don’t do that, that would be the opposite of what I want. Send more Anthro…that’s what I meant to say.
So this Maple Granola? Sounds simple right? That’s because it is simple. Sometimes granola recipes, while delicious, are full of unwanted calories. This is a simple, less-caloric version. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good chunky-meets-mildly-sticky kind of granola, but that is not my kind of thing right now. Continuing with the original intended purpose of this recipe: healthy.
Plus, this version renders itself to all types of food. Ice cream for example, a big thumbs up. Even with some almond milk as a cereal, it’s pretty stellar. More suggestions coming this Tuesday on the blog!
So, while you’re intended purpose for your Saturday might have been.
- Clean out the garage.
- Go grocery shopping.
- Pick those fresh tomatoes from your backyard.
- Recycle those water bottles.
Maybe, your Saturday should include making a really simple batch of Maple Granola? Just saying it travels pretty well, and it’s great prep for a coming meal this week that may or may not include fresh peaches. Give it a whirl. It takes barely any time to throw together, and you only have to turn on your oven to 300 degrees. Yes. Please.
