Bring on Cheddar Stuffed Jalapeños with Honey and all their wonder. These perfect little appetizers will throw you down and not think twice about it. Sweet, spicy perfection. The good news is that I scooped out all the dangerous little jalapeño seeds which hold all the spice, so, this snack can be enjoyable for anyone! Honestly, the way the flavors will build in your mouth is just unstoppable.
First, the honey hits, a delightful floral taste that stays only until that little bit of heat that is still residing in the jalapeños starts to creep in! And of course, the ride is stopped by the cooling down from the cheddar and cream cheese. Time to get a fast pass and do it all over again!
There is something about the proteins in milk that help with spicy flavors. This is why some of the best spicy foods are accompanied by some serious cheese! Cheese is the number one reason I could never be a vegan.
Number two would be meat.
I think these little appetizers look so cute too! I know that usually, all Super Bowl snacks are little beige balls of deep fried stuff. This is why I wanted my three Super Bowl appetizers this year to be fresh and colorful. I stuck with the main rules: Lot’s of meat, served with cheese, and always a little spicy. But, the food just has look appealing.
We eat with our eyes! And these boats of savory, sweet, goodness look like they taste. Mission accomplished.
This recipe is very simple. I started by cutting the jalapeños in half, scooping out all the seeds (BTW, I missed a seed when I was testing this recipe and it was fatal). I put a cheddar and cream cheese mixture in a zip lock baggie and cut out the corner so I could pipe the filling into the jalapeños nice and neat. Sprinkle them with some Panko and more cheddar before baking them in the oven to toast together. Once they are done, a drizzle of honey on top should do it.
